Founded in 2010

Lusto Translations was founded in 2010 out of the desire to improve the Romanian translation segment.

It all started from the living room of a rented apartment, weekly projects summing 10-20 pages. 

Over a decade later, we have translated over 500,000 translated pages in various fields and our team has grown to more than 3000 translators, interpreters, revisers, project coordinators and technicians, scattered around the world.

  • 2010

    Founding of Lusto Translations by Lucian Stoian, 26 (CEO and Marketing Specialist) and Darva Flavia, 24 (Translator and PM)

  • 2011

    It’s the year of our first major contract with a manufacturer of agricultural equipment. It is basically the beginning of our adventure in the world of translated words. We start working on manuals, brochures, data sheets, commercial and marketing texts, everything related to the agricultural machinery market.

  • 2012

    We make acquaintance with the interpretation market signing a contract with the largest event organising company in Romania. We translate for ministers, diplomats and heads of states, we do our part in facilitating communication in summits and other international and official events.

  • 2013

    Our works travels beyond Romanian borders, as we start working with various European companies. Our main focus is the technical field, we work on smart city integration documentation, landing strip and airport lightning systems, surveillance systems, access cards implementation documentation, earthquake test reports and more.

    We sign our first client from the United States and we implement computer assisted translation softwares (CAT Tools) in our daily work, getting a major boost in efficiency and quality.

  • 2015

    We are impressed to find out that our efforts have paid up and we get a diploma for the most profitable translation company in Bacau, Romania. Success floods our brains and we open a small office in Los Angeles, California, on Sycamore Avenue.

    We focus on IT projects, closely working with our clients from the United States. We translate tons of technical documentation, we specialise in software, app and web localisation services. We begin to have a better understanding of what translation services mean beyond the Romanian borders.

  • 2017

    We are evolving, we’re woking on the largest project we have ever translated, over 3500o pages of legal documentation for the European Court of Human Rights. Our team grows to 1500 translators and we’re covering more than 30 language combinations.

    Because we love technology, the beginning of 2018 finds us at Staple Center focusing on tech startups and localisation projects. We get to work on our most interesting project so far, artificial intelligence memories translation and localisation.

  • 2019

    Our main work is in IT, we improve and update our translation memories and glossaries by working on various projects.

    We update our privacy policy, to get in line with the new GDPR regulations.

    Who doesn’t love 2020? What an apocalyptic year it’s been…

    We translate corona virus test results, vaccination documentation, diagnoses and of course, we keep working on the localisation projects that we love. For us, it hasn’t been such a bad year after all. Stay healthy!

  • 2021

    We move to Greece!

    With all this working from home habits that arose and with the imminent lockdown concerns floating over our heads, we decided to make a run for it and we have opened the Greek Office, in the Island of Corfu. Working from home has never been more fun!
